Holidays in Cornwall

Cornwall continues it's upward trend as a top European Holiday destination. Visitors come from far and wide to experience the dramatic scenery and unique fishing villages that they have only read about or seen on screen.

The county has been immortalised by so many novels, films and TV costume dramas, that very few have escaped the draw of its particular charm. However, Cornwall’s locations remain popular for so many other reasons. Adults always insist that memories of childhood holidays in Cornwall remain particularly vivid and treasured. The wide and surf-kissed sandy beaches still provide the ideal setting for the traditional “Bucket and Spade” holiday with its paddling pools and the obligatory mackerel fishing.

Most of the finest beaches are to be found on the county’s North coast while the South is perhaps more famous for its quaint harbours like Mevagissey, Mousehole and Polperro as featured in a million jigsaw puzzles.

For walkers, the coastline is one of the most spectacular in the country and many are not satisfied until they have gone from one end to the other.

Another advantage of Cornwall is that it’s long, narrow shape means that you can base yourself in one place and reach most other locations reasonably quickly. Self–catering is still the preferred option for most people looking for a short break or an extended family holiday and farm-based accommodation is particularly in demand from those seeking authentic Cornish food and the experience of a working farm.
